History
Formed in 1995 as New Energy Ventures, our company has been in the competitive energy business since the advent of open markets.

Founded by Michael R. Peevey, former Southern California Edison president and current president of the California Public Utilities Commission.

Served the country's first direct access customer in Rhode Island in 1997.
Began expanding our operations in 1997, opening offices in New York, Los Angeles, Walnut Creek (CA), Boston and Philadelphia.

New Energy Ventures was purchased in July 1999 by AES for $90M and changed its name to AES NewEnergy.
Opened more regional offices throughout the U.S. and increased revenues until parent company AES experienced credit issues.

AES NewEnergy was purchased in September 2002 by Constellation Energy Group for $260M and changed name to Constellation NewEnergy.
In the first two years under Constellation, we doubled our revenue and more than tripled our size in total megawatts served.

In 2004 we combined forces with Constellation Energy's existing gas supply and transportation businesses – themselves pioneers in the competitive energy arena – and increased the breadth and depth of that experience.
