Constellation Energy announced that its subsidiary, Constellation NewEnergy, Inc., has entered into a green electricity purchase agreement with the New York Stock Exchange, a unit of NYSE Euronext (NYX), to supply renewable energy certificates (RECs) to match 100 percent of the approximately 28 million kilowatt-hours of electricity used annually by the NYSE. This agreement between Constellation NewEnergy and the New York Stock Exchange was facilitated by Co-eXprise, Inc, an energy consulting firm.
AOBA Alliance, Inc. Selects Constellation NewEnergy as Energy Services Provider

The AOBA Alliance, Inc., announced that it has chosen Constellation NewEnergy, a subsidiary of Constellation Energy, as its new energy services supplier. The AOBA Alliance, Inc. has been assisting commercial customers in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia in the procurement of competitive energy services since the deregulation of electricity markets approximately 10 years ago. Over the past decade AOBA Alliance participation has grown to roughly 650 megawatts of peak load and nearly 3.0 billion kilowatt-hours of annual electricity sales. Through this new relationship, the AOBA Alliance has the potential to become Constellation NewEnergy's largest retail customer and will provide an array of energy services to non-residential electricity and natural gas users throughout the metropolitan area.
Constellation Energy Announces $90 Million Solar Capital Commitment

Constellation Energy announced that it will support the development of commercial photovoltaic power systems with a $90 million solar capital commitment. To maximize the value of government renewable incentives, the $90 million set-aside will be available for customer-sited solar installations of 500 kilowatts or larger which begin construction before mid-year 2010.

In this new role, Smith will oversee the development and implementation of sustainable product offerings, including renewable generation, energy efficiency, demand response and greenhouse gas reduction strategies. In addition, Smith will lead the company's growing solar power business and a dedicated commercial solar sales team focused on the rapid deployment of customer-sited solar installations. As senior vice president of retail green initiatives for Constellation NewEnergy, Smith reports jointly to Mark Huston, managing director of retail energy, Constellation Energy and Michael Kagan, president of retail power, Constellation NewEnergy.
