Constellation NewEnergy Wins Contract Renewal:

BALTIMORE. MD – Constellation Energy (NYSE: CEG) today announced that its subsidiary, Constellation NewEnergy, Inc., has renewed its contract to supply power to approximately 150 schools and public facilities in Upstate New York through the Onondaga-Cortland-Madison Board of Cooperative Educational Services (OCM BOCES), acting as Administrative Participant for the New York School and Municipal Energy Consortium (NYSMEC).
Under this new five-year agreement, beginning this month, NewEnergy will supply electricity to several hundred service accounts with a total peak load of 80 megawatts.
Our relationship with OCM BOCES began in 2002, said Deirdre Lord, vice president, Constellation NewEnergy MetroNorth region. I am pleased that NewEnergy has been able to help OCM BOCES develop an electricity supply strategy that is consistent with their organizations budgetary goals and objectives. Working with OCM BOCES has been a privilege and pleasure and were very pleased well be their energy partner until 2010.
OCM BOCES also monitors electricity usage for the various facilities through WebJoules, NewEnergys online energy information tool. With WebJoules, customers can track their energy consumption through the internet across multiple facilities.
We take an active role in managing our participants electricity usage, said Kathy Stokes, coordinator of Energy Services at OCM BOCES. The continually rising cost of electricity is a major concern for the public facilities we manage. Our new agreement with Constellation NewEnergy will help our participants budget and plan their electricity expenses over the next five years. We believe that the first step in actively managing electricity is to understand where its going and how its being used. WebJoules helps us do that.
